A historic structure’s long journey home will be celebrated during Celebrate Wildwood on September 19.
After years of planning, preservation work, and community support, the Essen Log Cabin is set to receive its official welcome in Wildwood.
The cabin’s ribbon-cutting and unveiling will take place Saturday, September 19, 2026, immediately following Celebrate Wildwood’s 11:30 a.m. opening ceremonies at the Wildwood Village Green, 16904 Crestview Drive. The event is free and open to the public.
The brief ceremony will include remarks from Wildwood Mayor Garritano, representatives of the city’s Historic Preservation Commission, and a member of the Essen family. Following the remarks, attendees will witness the official unveiling and ribbon-cutting of the reconstructed cabin.
